Alongside the rapid ignition and robust heavy-duty soldering
iron, the seemingly insignificant PERKEO regulator is the most
important part of this equipment. The integral fine sintered
metal filter, which is only available in this form from PERKEO,
prevents fluid sludge from entering the hose and thus the
soldering equipment! In addition, the PERKEO heavy-duty
soldering iron burns with a fully windproof flame up to wind
force 13 with reduced gas consumption and this enables
extremely short warm-up times for the copper tip.
The gas consumption for soldering equipments that do not have
a small cylinder regulator is almost twice as high! Additionally,
a lot of valuable time is lost in refilling – entirely unnecessary!
PERKEO Trade Tip:
For many tradesmen it’s a familiar problem:
The propane cylinder has been freshly refilled
or has fallen over and the soldering iron is not
burning properly, it starts to splutter, white
sludge emerges from the gas nozzle and dries hard. Often the
fine holes are damaged when cleaning the nozzle, the
soldering iron now burns at only half-power, dried out sludge
continues to emerge from the hose and blocks up the nozzle
all over again!
This unsatisfactory situation generally goes unnoticed - the
increased gas consumption and very long warm-up times are
assumed to be normal.
Remedial action:
Completely disassemble the soldering iron valve body and
clean with solvent. Likewise, replace the hose line and (!) use
